Rotations

Rotation: Is a turn around a centre point. The figure and its image may face different ways.

We will be using the tissue paper and the shape in front of you to do a full rotation of this shape.

Reflection: Is a flip around a center point. The figure and its image face opposite ways.

Translations (slides)

Please copy into your notebook with the title: Translations (slides) and todays date. 

Translation: is a slide it moves a figure along a straight line. The figure and it’s image are congruent.

Congruent: Figures that are identical


Try translating (sliding) the shapes on the work page. We will look at them as a class as well.

Recorder Note

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We will be starting our recorder program on Tuesday March 19th.
This program requires students to bring in a recorder from home in order to play
it as we are unable to share mouthpieces.

Scholastic Book Orders - $10.00 comes with an instructional book.

Other locations that occasionally have recorders.

Symmetrical Figure: A symmetrical figure has one or more lines of symmetry. a figure that is not symmetrical has no lines of symmetry.
